Cheaper AMD and Nvidia GPUs Will Arrive, Thanks to China’s Crypto Ban: Massive Chip Shortage to Solve?

The cheaper AMD and Nvidia GPUs are not yet available. There is not enough supply to meet the growing demand from business consumers. One of the main reasons for the increase in the prices of these popular graphics card brands is the hoarding of crypto miners.

Blockchain experts explained that if people want to have more cryptocurrencies, they need to have lots of GPUs to generate enough power, allowing them to mine more digital coins.

At the moment, it’s still unclear when these miners will stop hoarding GPUs from Nvidia, AMD, and other big brands. However, those hoarders may soon be reduced as China, one of the largest countries where blockchain transactions take place, has decided to ban cryptocurrencies.

Cheaper AMD, Nvidia GPUs to come

According to GameRantIn its latest report, the People’s Bank of China and the Chinese government announced that crypto-mining exchanges are already illegal in the country.

Various experts and tech enthusiasts explained that as crypto miners in China slowly disappear, the GPU shortage will also be resolved.

This means that fewer people would use robots to accumulate graphics cards for digital currency mining. Once that happens, regular consumers might now have a better chance of having their own Nvidia or AMD GPU model once that happens.

On the other hand, if supplies were to become sufficient for consumer demand, prices would also fall as there would be less competition from consumers.

Apart from the lower prices, some critics have also claimed that an oversupply of GPUs could also occur in the near future. However, you should always remember that these details are still speculation at this time.

Other countries where crypto is banned

China is not the only country that has decided to ban cryptocurrency transactions. Gadget 360 reported that there are also other countries that do not want to be involved in the growing blockchain market.

They restrict blockchain transactions since government officials have claimed that cryptocurrencies could lead to money laundering and other malicious campaigns. Here are some countries that currently ban the use of cryptos:

  • Egypt
  • Morocco
  • Bangladesh
  • Russia
